Stephanie & Mike’s skateboarding elopement at west end overlook

My husband played baseball in high school. I know, this is about someone else’s wedding but I’m getting there. He was a pitcher, and he was really good at it. So when my dad was choosing music for our wedding, which I let him do entirely unsupervised, he decided that when the groomsmen all walked in, he would play “Take Me Out to the Ball Game.” And we had an impromptu singalong. Later on at the reception, he went outside to play some catch with friends.

Where was I going with this? I am strongly pro finding ways to incorporate the things you love into your wedding day, so that you get to have beautiful memories like this, too. Mike and his crew happen to love skateboarding and rollerblading, so after the ceremony, that’s what they did.

One of my favorite things about having a smaller celebration is that you can get a group photo with everyone.
